What is the difference between the Elka Model-T Electric Scooter and the Xiaomi M365?

We saw a few ways in which Xiaomi could improve upon their m365 (although it is a great scooter). We added a replaceable battery, meaning you can take a spare with you and won’t be caught walking in the rain! You’ll also enjoy the extra comfort provided by our vacuum sealed tires - unlike the Xiaomi’s these are tubeless, meaning punctures are pretty much a thing of the past. They can still happen though, on a rare occasion. Finally, we opted for a strong motor for improved torque and acceleration. Our motor has a max output of 700W (but it’s capped at 350 in the EU) - the m365 has 200W.

Is the Model-T Electric Scooter legal on UK roads?

The Model-T is in line with speed regulations in the UK, capped out at 15.5mph. However, under the 1835 Highway Act, police do have the right to stop you for using the scooter on public land. This law is in review and due to be changed in the UK’s future of mobility package (2020). After multiple conversations with police officers, we find that if you ride sensibly, wearing a helmet and paying respect for other road users, generally you will not have any issues.
